Since 1982, UNESCO has designated April 18 as International Monuments and Sites Day. And the Acropolis and many other archaeological sites in Greece are free!
First and foremost, this day aims to promote cultural heritage worldwide. It is also an opportunity to raise public awareness of its diversity, relevance and vulnerability, as well as the needs and benefits of its conservation.
