Flisvos Marina is a nice place for a family walk by the sea. The marina is located in Paleo Faliro, about 10 km southwest of Athens. Far from the classical tourist circuits, the place is mainly frequented by Greek families who come to walk, drink a coffee or admire the sunset. The marina is quiet, clean, almost a little artificial. But the view of the sea and the port of Piraeus is very nice.

To begin, a small tour in the marina

Flisvos Marina has the ambition to become a high caliber international marina in the Eastern Mediterranean. It was therefore designed to meet the mooring needs of large luxury ships and ocean-going mega yachts. The pedestrian walk in the marina allows you to admire the huge boats. In general, yachts from all over the world are very impressive for children. Look at the different flags that are hoisted on the masts of the ships. Can you recognize their country of origin? Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Panama, New Zealand, Anguilla, etc. It’s a great opportunity to review geography with your family!

One of the children’s favorite activities while walking in the harbor is feeding the fish. So don’t forget to bring a few pieces of bread before coming.

To continue, the children’s playground

If you want to make your children happy, you can take them to Flisvos Park located within Flisvos Marina. The park is located by the sea and has a playground for children: inflatables, trampolines, slides, rides and roller coasters … And also a café-restaurant! The entrance is free, and each activity is then charged with daily rates. Don’t hesitate to go there during the Christmas holidays, you will make your children happy!

You can also make a detour to the Stavros Niarchos Center located right next door and enjoy its large park.

And to finish, a lunch, dinner or snack break

There are several restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops all around the marina. Nothing extraordinary and the prices are higher than in the center of Athens. But the setting is pleasant: we eat while admiring the view of the port and the sea. In the evening, nice sunset.

Special mention for the Origami sushi restaurant (on the second floor, in the extension of the Mare Marina restaurant). The sushi, although expensive, is delicious and the fish ultra-fresh. Try the Leche de Tigre makis.

More accessible with small children: TGI Fridays restaurant with hamburgers and children’s menu.

For those with a sweet tooth, several stores offer frozen Greek yogurt, which can be enjoyed plain or with a wide variety of toppings. A very pleasant snack break!

How to get to Flisvos Marina?

The marina is accessible by car through Poseidonos Avenue. There is free parking right in front of the building. Unfortunately, it is often full and you have to fall back on the paying parking lots (but the price is reasonable, about 3€ for half a day).

You can also choose to go there by public transport, the marina being served by :

  • buses 217, 550, A1, B1 and B2
  • Tramway: direct line from Syntagma square, stop “Trocadero” or “Flisvos”.
