In various situations, you may need to use the services of a notary in Greece. Thus, for example:

  • if you want to buy a property in the Greek islands, in Athens or on the mainland,
  • if you live in Greece and you need to sign a power of attorney or a notarial act,
  • in the context of an inheritance when the deceased owned property in Greece,
  • for the creation of a company, etc.

Administrative procedures are not always simple… and even less so when you are in a foreign country. In these cases, it is very useful to be able to speak the same language. So, let us introduce you to Alice Christodoulou, who is a notary in Athens and a perfect English & French speaker.

Who is Alice Christodoulou?

Alice Christodoulou studied law at the University of Athens and then continued her studies in Paris, at the University Panthéon Assas Paris 2. She first worked as a lawyer until 2003. Then, after passing the exam of the Hellenic Association of Notaries, she devoted herself to the family tradition, the notary’s office. Indeed, Alice Christodoulou succeeded her grandmother (Catherine Andrikopoulou who founded the firm in 1957) and her mother (Alceste Christodoulou – Andrikopoulou). She therefore combines the experience and knowledge passed on by her predecessors with the application of contemporary methods and technologies. Tradition and modernity, this is one of the added values of Alice Christodoulou’s study. Alice is perfectly at ease with new forms of communication. It is thus possible to contact her by email or Skype.

Why use a notary in Greece?

Generally speaking:

Using a notary:

  • offers legal security to parties in real estate, corporate and family law transactions;
  • ensures that all new regulations are respected, including the most recent ones, which is essential in this period of multiplication of legal texts, in all fields;
  • allows you to have a continuously trained contact person who can answer any questions you may have about the new legislative requirements;
  • leads to the centralization of the various stakeholders on a private or professional project
  • reduces the risk of future litigation.
