Athens Fish Spa: foot care and massages in the center of Athens

Where to find a good Spa in downtown Athens? Not easy … A friend of mine recommended Athens Fish Spa. But it took me 18 months to try this address, somewhat put off by the name. Indeed, I was afraid that the place was entirely dedicated to fish pedicure, an experience that does not tempt me at all (if on the other hand, you are a fan of this practice, I advise you to go to the lake of Vouliagmeni for a totally natural and life-size fish pedicure).

Athens Fish Spa: a well hidden address

The Spa is located in a small street in the Monastiraki neighborhood, a five-minute walk from the metro station. The exterior of the building does not give you a particular desire to stop. Indeed, the building is greyish and without charm, the walls are tagged, the advertising boards are not very attractive… impossible to imagine that a place dedicated to well-being is nestled here. And yet! When you reach the second floor of the building, the contrast is striking. The scent of essential oils, dimmed lights, relaxing background music and zen decor welcome us.

Athens Fish Spa: a relaxing bubble in the heart of downtown

Athens Fish Spa is a very clean and relaxing environment. There are several areas: a reception and relaxation room, the famous chairs with the fish basins for the pedicure, several quiet rooms for the massages. And there’s even a nice little courtyard with a fountain and some chairs to relax in the shade. I really appreciated the silence that reigns in the Spa: you can’t hear any outside noise. You can forget that you are in one of the busiest and noisiest places in downtown.

More than just a fish spa

This Spa offers several services: traditional Thai massage or oil massage (49€/50 minutes), foot reflexology (25€/25 minutes), facials, sauna/hammam (15€/30 minutes), manicure and of course, the speciality of the place, the fish-pedicure (15€/20 minutes). I also recommend you try the foot massage as it is very pleasant after a day spent wandering around Athens.

So, don’t let yourself be stopped by the uninviting exterior façade or by the name of the place, as this does not reveal either the atmosphere or the services offered. Let yourself be tempted!

Possibility to book your appointment by internet : simple and fast (you see the available slots), no difficulty for the language.

Friendly and perfectly English speaking staff.
