Quiet places to sleep on Sifnos
A weekend away from it all. Are you tempted? The island of Sifnos is a great place to relax, and you’ll find plenty of hotels to stay just outside the villages, in the heart of nature.
Located in Exambela, not far from the capital Apollonia, the Hotel Andromeda is a magnificent hotel ideal for relaxation. A lovely swimming pool, a garden surrounded by olive trees, a bar where you can sip delicious cocktails… everything you need for a pleasant stay. What’s more, the hotel is run by two Frenchmen, Laure and Loïc, who will be delighted to share their tips and favorite addresses with you.
To the southwest of Sifnos lies the village of Vathi and the magnificent Archipelago. Archipelago features magnificent apartments, studios and rooms with breathtaking views of the creek.
Between Kastro and Faros, we stayed at Cape Napos with several families, ideal because the establishment has several accommodations side by side. Simply decorated rooms typical of the Cyclades, superb sea views, a very pleasant pool, very friendly hosts… What else? Oh yes, for early risers, a great sunrise! In short, a home to recommend without hesitation.
Finally, in Kastro, we also liked Hotel Agnanti simple but charming, with a lovely view, friendly staff and good value for money. Simply superb!
Accommodation in livelier cities
There are numerous hotels in both Kamares and Apollonia. Apollonia is the capital of Sifnos, and Kamares or Kamarai is the island’s main port. Both towns are a little livelier than the rest of the island. You’ll find excellent restaurants, bars, diving centers, independent boutiques…
Enjoy the beach: find a hotel in Platis Gialos
There’s no shortage of hotels in Platis Gialos! Upscale hotels, mid-range hotels, guesthouses: there’s something for everyone. Beware: staying on Sifnos in July or August means booking well in advance and paying a high price. Depending on your budget, here is a selection of seaside hotels:
Treat yourself
- Hotel Niriedes: A family-run hotel with magnificent views and quality service
- Verina Terra: A superb hotel, slightly set back from the beach (you have to cross the road), quiet, with swimming pool and lovely terrace.
- Platys Gialos Hotel: A beachfront hotel with direct access to the sea
Intermediate prices
- Hotel Edem: An excellent value for money for this family-run hotel, 150 meters from the beach. A pretty terrace with bougainvillea, a peaceful atmosphere, a warm welcome and a hearty breakfast where everything is homemade.
- Rita Rooms Sifnos: Very good value for money 350 m from the beach, very friendly hosts
Guesthouses with direct access to the beach
- Pension Ageliki: Located on the beautiful beach of Platis Gialos, the establishment offers rooms for 2 to 4 people, with terrace or balcony and sea or garden view.
- Almyra Seaside Suites: 10 metres from Platis Gialos beach, a popular hotel
- Hotel Efrosini: Small hotel with a family atmosphere, perfect location with direct access to the beach.
