How long can I stay on Antiparos?

  • One day is enough to discover the island. So you can easily make the round trip in a day from Paros.
  • However, we do recommend spending an evening on Antiparos, admiring the sunset over Sifneiko beach and dining in one of the village’s restaurants. Ferries run between Antiparos and Paros until 2am.
  • On the other hand, if you want to enjoy Antiparos’ lively nightlife (and yes, the island is famous for its beach parties), then you’d better stay put… and take the 1st ferry in the morning (at 6am).
  • You can also choose to spend several days on the island of Antiparos to take advantage of the island’s gentle way of life and enjoy a calm, relaxing vacation.

How do I get to Antiparos?

The island of Antiparos is linked to its big sister Paros by :

  • small boats departing from Parikia: pedestrians only, no vehicles. 30-minute crossing. 6 connections a day in summer (slightly fewer in low season) – €5 return fare
  • Ferries from Pounta. You can then pass your car, scooter or bike. 15-minute crossing – in summer: departures every 30 minutes (and even every 20 minutes at peak times) between 7.15 a.m. and 10.30 p.m., then every hour from 10.30 p.m. to 2.30 a.m. (please note that services are less frequent out of season). 6.30 per vehicle and €1.30 per pedestrian. Tickets can be purchased directly from the ferry.

The boats then arrive directly at the entrance to Antiparos village, which is very convenient.

Another way to get to Antiparos is to rent a boat with CLICKANDBOAT. They offer a range of sailing yachts and catamarans for weekly charter, for cruising with or without a skipper, particularly from the port of Paros.

Where to eat in Antiparos

  • Without a doubt, our favorite restaurant in the village of Antiparos is the Yorgis tavern on the main street (open only in the evening): it’s simple and authentic. Traditional Greek cuisine at reasonable prices (€10-15 per person). The place isn’t very big and well-known on the island, so it’s best to get there before 8-8.30pm to be sure of getting a table.

  • In the village, let’s also mention the Klimataria tavern, a little off the main street (opposite the Chrisoula hotel), where you can eat in a pleasant flower-filled courtyard.
  • Still in the village, opt for taverna 5F if you’re in the mood for souvlaki and gyros. It’s good and cheap.
  • With children, we recommend the YAM restaurant also located in the village: international cuisine, playground and children’s menu.
  • In Agios Giorgos, our favorite is the Captain Pipinos tavern. The setting is pleasant, very Greek – bordering on cliché, but we like it: blue and white tables by the sea, with octopus drying next to them. The fish and seafood are excellent.
  • If you’re in Soros, Peramaraki is a pleasant tavern.
  • Finally, if you fancy an ice cream, try Vicky, an ice cream parlour in the village of Antiparos, which offers some very good artisanal ice creams.

Getting around Antiparos

The island isn’t very big, so you don’t need a car. The ferry port is just outside Antiparos village, and some beaches are within walking distance.

A bus also runs between the village and the cave. Another bus serves the beaches on the east coast.

If, however, you’d like to get away from the village, find less crowded beaches and stop off at small coves along the way, then it’s best to rent a scooter or car.
