The best hotels, accommodations and houses to rent in Paxos
Accommodation in Gaios, Paxos
We recommend you to stay at the port of Gaios. In fact, it’s very practical, as this is where the boats arrive. What’s more, it’s close to all the shops you need and very pleasant in the evenings.
- Alia Studios: centrally located but quiet, well-furnished accommodation with a caring owner.
- PaxosBlue suites and villas: a collection of houses and apartments beautifully integrated into the vegetation. The complex is located very close to the landing stage, a little further from the center of Gaios. Plus, direct access to the sea!
- Ostria Apartments: located in the heart of Gaios
- Margina Residence: a small, family-run hotel in an ideal location. Just ten meters from the beach, the single rooms have absolutely fantastic sea views.
Sleeping in Loggos, Paxos
Alternatively, you can stay in Loggos, a quieter harbor ideally located for boat tours of the island and the beautiful beaches of the east coast.
- Zakspitaki: a charming English couple offer bed and breakfast accommodation in their villa not far from Loggos.
- Loggos sea view Cottage: a house for rent in the hills above Loggos with swimming pool.
Elsewhere on the island of Paxos
For those who love nature, there are a few magnificent houses lost among the olive trees in the center of the island. For example, Nassos House in the center of the island, 5 minutes’ walk from the village of Foutana, this traditional house is set in an olive grove. Quiet and green.

There is a local bus that crosses the island four times a day. It serves Gaios, Loggos and Lakka.

Rent a scooter or a car on the island of Paxos
There are several car and scooter rental companies in Paxos. They are located in Gaios (the main port). We haven’t tested them, but here are a few addresses you can contact for availability and rates: Rent a Car Paxos, Alfa Car Hire Paxos, Rent a Car & Moto Paxos (this one also offers scooters).
How to get to Paxos by boat
To reach Paxos from mainland Greece, depart from Igoumenitsa. The boats arrive at Gaios. Two companies offer crossings:

Day cruise
Day cruises are available to discover Paxos. It’s a bit like mass tourism, but it allows you to let yourself be guided and see some very pretty places. Cruises depart from either Corfu or Parga on the mainland. You can discover and book them here.
