Our readers often ask us for advice on choosing a hotel near Athens airport. Not an easy task, as there isn’t much choice. And the only hotel within the airport is a 5-star establishment that charges prohibitive prices (rooms start at €200).
So we looked for a hotel close to Athens airport, with good value for money. We tested it. And we found a real bargain: the Galotel Agnoudas, very close to the airport, with very affordable rates (rooms around €65/night for two people).

The Galotel Agnoudas is located in Markopoulo, 10 kilometers from the airport (10 minutes by car). It is run by a Franco-Greek couple. Gaëlle is French and her husband, Sotiris, is Greek. The couple offer a VIP check-in/check-out service, taking you directly from the airport to your room (or vice-versa), for a very reasonable price: €20 from 6am to midnight (much cheaper than cabs, and above all no risk of scamming) and €25 for the night rate from midnight to 6am.
Galotel Agnoudas rooms are just a few minutes’ walk from Markopoulo square. And a 5-minute drive from Porto Rafti beach. It’s a much nicer environment than the noisy, dreary airport. If you fly out the next day, it’s a great way to spend one last evening in Greece and enjoy your vacation to the end.
The hotel is also just 30 km from Cape Sounion, 25 km from Athens and 5 minutes from the Koropi metro station (line 3-blue). It’s also very close to the beaches. So you’re perfectly welcome to stay for a few days. To help you visualize the location, here’s the Google Maps update.
A family-run establishment. There are 8 rooms in total, including 2 double rooms, 3 family rooms with bunk beds for children and a recently renovated studio and 2 apartments.
The rooms are very clean and air-conditioned. Each room has a balcony, flat-screen TV and private bathroom with shower. Free WiFi throughout the establishment.

French welcome and low prices: a real good deal for sleeping near Athens airport

For dinner, there are a number of good tavernas close to the hotel in Markopoulo Square, just a 3-4-minute walk away. Gaëlle will recommend her favorites.
In short, if you’re looking for a hotel close to Athens airport, the Galotel Agnoudas is an excellent option.
