There are several advantages to using a multi-stop bus to visit Athens.
First of all, it gives you a fairly complete overview of the city. So it’s highly recommended for those who only have a short time in Athens. This option is also very practical for travelers who like to get a first overview of the city before going on to visit the monuments and sites that appeal to them.
Multi-stop buses in Athens are also very convenient for cruisers who arrive at the port of Piraeus and only have a day to visit the Greek capital. In this case, take a bus from Piraeus to the center of Athens.
The system is flexible. You buy a ticket for one, two or three days, depending on the option you choose. Then you can go up and down as many times as you like. Routes are unlimited. This allows you to visit at your own pace.
Commentary in English is provided by an audioguide system. This allows you to understand where you are, to know the names of the monuments you pass, and to have a few explanations in English.
The buses are comfortable and suitable whatever the weather. There’s an indoor floor, protected from the rain when the weather’s bad. As for the second floor, it’s convertible and open, so you can really see the city.
If you need to, you can take your luggage on the bus – no problem.

Disadvantages
Of course, touristic buses in Athens are not for everyone. Some find them too touristy. Some days, in high season and at peak times, it can get crowded.
The comments are relatively succinct. It sure isn’t worth a guided tour of the city. But they can be complementary!
The commentary is provided via an audio guide, which travelers feel isn’t very personal and has a chilly feel to it. Audio is of variable quality.
Buses can be very hot, especially in midsummer.
Finally, stops are not always well signposted.
Athens sightseeing bus routes
