If you’re going on vacation to the island of Kos, you’re in luck! It’s a pleasant island. Staying in Kos is easy, as there are a large number of quality hotels and accommodations across the island.

For travelers on a budget, there are no campsites on the island. For inexpensive accommodation, opt for homestays or small hotels in Kos town.

Perhaps you’re wondering which is the best place to stay in Kos? There are several options, depending on the style of vacation you like, your desires and your budget.

All-inclusive hotels for family vacations

While a few years ago Kos was known as a party island, tourism has evolved and is becoming more family-oriented. Hotels have adapted their offerings, and many now offer family-friendly all-inclusive packages with kids’ clubs and activities for children.

We particularly recommend :

  • Grecotel Kos Imperial: Grecotel is a quality Greek chain with several establishments in Greece. The Grecotel Imperial in Kos is an excellent choice for a family holiday. It is located on the seafront and has its own beach. There are several swimming pools and a kids’ club.
  • Mitsis hotels: The Mitsis chain has several hotels in Kos. These are tasteful all-inclusive resorts, with quality service. The Mitsis Norida is equipped with large waterslides that are a delight for children. And Mitsis Family Village is, as its name suggests, well suited to family holidays.
  • Kipriotis Aqualand: located high above Kos, the Kipriotis hotel boasts large waterslides and several pools. There are family rooms and child-friendly buffets.

Luxury hotels and resorts

Kos has a number of top-of-the-range establishments for seaside vacations. These include:

  • Ikos Aria Hotel: This is one of the most beautiful hotels in Kos. The location is magnificent, on Agios Stefanos beach, which is one of our favorite Kos beaches. Quality services and refined amenities. Particular attention is paid to the smallest details.
  • Aqua blu Boutique hotel: Less than 2km from Kos town, an adults-only hotel with private beach and swimming pool. Luxurious amenities.

Kos (also known as Chora) is the only real town on the island. You’ll find plenty of amenities: stores, restaurants, buses…

Sleeping in Kos – town is a practical choice, especially for those who don’t have a car and want to get around easily.

But sleeping in Kos – town is especially recommended for night owls who want to enjoy the nightlife. There are plenty of bars and nightclubs.

Although we didn’t stay there, the following establishments were recommended to us by friends:

  • Sonia Hotel & Suites: located on the port, renowned for the kindness and dedication of its owner, Sonia.
  • Astron Suites & Apartments: a recently built hotel, conveniently located 400 meters from the port and 100 meters from a sandy beach. There’s even a rooftop outdoor pool.
  • Paritsa Hotel: Convenient location, comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

There are also many others accommodations in Kos town. In particular, we spotted :

  • Mary’s Apartment: an apartment for 1 to 4 people, very well located, close to restaurants, the beach and the center.
  • Johny-Clara Apartment: For 4 people, a recently renovated apartment. Both in the city center and close to the beach.

Located to the south-west of Kos, Kefalos Bay boasts some beautiful beaches.

Kefalos is a good choice for a relaxing seaside vacation.

Among others, we spotted :

  • Panorama Studios: A very pleasant, family-run establishment with an absolutely magnificent panoramic view. Good value for money.
  • Manolis Studios: a hotel with a large, beautiful swimming pool, from which you can walk to the beach.
  • Albatross Studios: a seaside hotel with swimming pool.

Sleeping in Kos, quiet by the sea: Mastihari

Mastihari is a small seaside resort with a touch of old-fashioned charm, ideal for family vacations. You’ll find a lovely sandy beach with a few trees to shelter you from the sun, human-sized hotels, tavernas and a few seaside bars.

In short, it’s an attractive resort for those looking for a seaside vacation without having to go to the big vacation clubs.
